Our 1st Anniversary Dia de los Muertos Celebration

Posted on 07 November 2016

What fun we had! I'm so glad we opened this location on November 2nd last year. Our grand opening last year set the precedent for this year and many years to come. We started the planning during our October buying trip, picking up sugar skulls and other "Muertos" goodies for our altar as we shopped for the store.

These gorgeous "Cempasucitl" or marigold are essential for an altar to add freshness and light the way home for the departed spirits. Our beloved vendor, Carmelita, from Tlaquepaque made these paper one for us. Her flowers are all available in our store. Our altar ...so sweet!

We served Tequila and Mezcal and had a delicious tasting of Moles from Oaxaca and other traditional foods.

Friends, family, and our beloved customers all came out to join in the merriment. I think everyone had a great time. We can't wait until next year to do it all again!
